The mouse story

Everyone between 6 and 34 grew up with PC mice. Why? It’s a long story, but here’s a short version:

The first mouse was introduced in a magazine from 1965 (Wikipedia). And mice quickly became public property around 1983 when the Apple Lisa came out. Now only 2 years later, one of history’s most popular devices appeared. The Commodore 64. This amazing machinery did not have a mouse, but no one was worried about that for a second. Afterall, the games were amazing, the OS user interface had a cool blue background and maybe most importantly, there was no waiting for commands to be carried out, written from the keyboard. The effect was instant. Why oh why, did the Commodore 64 or at least the next Commodore model not win the battle of the lucrative PC Personal Computer market? Well, certainly it wasn’t the lack of a mouse. Microsoft, which was a happy supporter of mice, had marketing plans and methods that the Commodore executives were too comfortably successful to come up with. If only they had…….

But no worries. It’s now 2011 and Microsoft is making things right again. They have been trying for a long time and doing a good job, especially lately with Windows 7, but now they really struck gold. Microsofts KINECT, we believe, is the controller of the future. Kinect is the strongest Mousefighter on the market right now. The technology was invented by another company, PrimeSense, but Microsoft was the first to market it.

Controlling a computer basically comes down to your preference. You might like to it one way, other people like it another way. That’s why the software you can download on this website is so important. It gives you an alternative.

Everyone knows, that working with a mouse too much is not healthy. We should be moving our bodies while working on the computer. Now that will soon be possible. The MouseFIGHTER website is dedicated to make that happen. Until the the PrimeSense kinect technology is encorporated into every webcam of every notebook sold, the best we can do, is to offer you Pointer Control Software that works with the keyboard alone. This way, all we need is the keyboard.
